We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Billing Specialist and Team Member to join our financial services team. This role requires a full understanding of insurance billing, including follow-up of outstanding and denied claims. Accounts receivable creation and presentation of treatment plans in a way that increases patient acceptance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in accounting, medical billing, and financial software to contribute to our company's revenue cycle management and client relations.
Duties
Handle medical billing including CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and revenue cycle management for healthcare clients
Provide exceptional customer service through phone etiquette and negotiation skills during collections or client inquiries
Support internal teams with technical accounting tasks and detailed account reviews
Hours and pay will increase as clinic grows
Responsibilities
Prepare and submit insurance claims using appropriate coding systems such as CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG.
Review and verify medical records to ensure accurate documentation for billing purposes.
Utilize patient charts to input patient information, diagnoses, procedures, and billing data.
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and insurance policies to optimize reimbursement.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures when necessary.
Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations related to billing and coding standards.
Manage patient accounts, process payments, and handle billing inquiries professionally.
Requirements
Proven experience in medical billing, medical coding, or related roles within a healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems.
Familiarity with medical terminology and medical records management.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in billing processes.
Ability to interpret complex medical documentation and translate it into correct billing codes.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations related to medical billing and coding compliance.
