Job Description

This is not a remote position. You must currently reside on the island of Oahu to be considered.

The Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for accurately processing medical claims to ensure timely reimbursement from insurance companies and patients. They will work closely with medical providers, insurance companies, and patients to ensure that billing processes are efficient, accurate, and compliant with relevant laws and regulations. At least 2 years of medical billing experience is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and process medical claims and invoices for accuracy and completeness Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and government agencies Follow up on unpaid claims and appeal denied claims as necessary Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to medical billing Respond to patient, insurance, and staff inquiries related to billing and insurance Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient and insurance company records Work closely with medical providers, outside billing agency, and office managers to ensure timely and accurate billing Stay current with changes in medical billing practices and regulations Refunds Posting of insurance and patient payments Reports and Reconciliations In and outbound calls to patients, insurances, and staff Daily responsiveness with emails, mail, and phone

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework preferred) Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or related field Strong knowledge of medical billing codes, regulations, and procedures Experience with electronic medical billing software and systems. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills and ability to work with a team Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
