We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role combines clinical support with front-office responsibilities, providing essential patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in outpatient settings, familiarity with EHR systems, and a strong understanding of medical terminology and patient service. Prior experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine is highly valued. Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out processes
Collect patient information, update medical records, and verify insurance details
Assist with patient intake, including recording vital signs and medical history
Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and documenting symptoms
Support clinical procedures such as medication administration, specimen collection, and basic X-ray operations
Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
Assist providers with procedures in various specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, or emergency medicine
Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate follow-up visits
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, managing correspondence, and maintaining clinic supplies
Skills
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration
Experience working in outpatient clinics, hospital settings, or Level I/II trauma centers preferred
Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions
Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) and handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently
Knowledge of specialized areas such as dermatology, geriatrics, PICU, or surgical settings is a plus
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Prior experience with hospital medicine, urgent care, or inpatient care is advantageous
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
