We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional service and support in a fast-paced medical environment. The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for managing patient appointments, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all patients visiting our facility.
Responsibilities
Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of time slots.
Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history.
Maintain accurate patient records and manage electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries or directing calls to appropriate staff.
Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary materials.
Support other administrative tasks as required to enhance patient service.
Skills
Knowledge of medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the healthcare setting.
Understanding of physiology and internal medicine concepts relevant to patient care.
Experience in a hospital or outpatient setting, particularly in areas such as PICU or geriatrics, is preferred.
Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Proficient in using EHR systems and other office software applications.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
