We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, along with experience in various clinical settings such as dermatology, urgent care, and hospital medicine. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic while delivering high-quality service to our patients.
Duties
Perform patient intake procedures, including gathering medical history and vital signs
Assist healthcare providers with examinations and procedures
Administer medications as directed and provide basic life support when necessary
Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems
Prepare patients for X-rays and other diagnostic tests
Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols
Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the clinic
Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
Document ICD coding for billing purposes
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in both inpatient and outpatient settings
Qualifications
Previous experience in a clinical setting such as internal medicine, geriatrics, or emergency medicine is preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential
Familiarity with hospital environments including Level I and Level II trauma centers is a plus
Experience with medical administrative support tasks including scheduling and patient service
Ability to perform intake procedures, vital sign assessments, and medication administration
Basic life support certification is required; additional certifications in urgent care or dermatology are advantageous
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment
