About the Role




The

Medical Assistant

plays a vital role in supporting primary care services within a patient-centered environment. You'll work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to patients. This position combines clinical responsibilities with administrative support to ensure an efficient and positive patient experience.


Key Responsibilities




Support providers during patient assessments, exams, and procedures. Prepare exam rooms and ensure cleanliness and readiness for each patient visit. Obtain and record vital signs and accurately update patient medical records. Conduct health screenings (PHQ2, GAD2, SDOH, smoking, alcohol, etc.). Administer medications and immunizations (oral, topical, IM, SQ) after appropriate training. Assist with lab draws, diagnostic testing, and specimen handling. Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and follow-up communications with patients. Maintain medical supply inventory and ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards. Educate patients about preventive care, chronic disease management, and overall wellness. Participate in pre-visit planning, quality improvement projects, and EMR documentation.

Qualifications




High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Nurse Aide training program. Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience (preferred). BLS certification (required). TB clearance within the past 12 months. Valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle. Knowledge of clinical documentation and exam room procedures. Strong interpersonal, communication, and multitasking skills. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
