Job Description

Tulsa Dermatology Clinic is a physician-owned and operated clinic founded in 1968. We specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of all diseases of the skin, hair, and nails, including skin cancer. We are currently seeking a full-time medical assistant to join our team. This role will be based out of our Tulsa clinic, but will travel to our Claremore location on Tuesdays.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities

include, but are not limited to:

Accompany patients to exam rooms Interview patients, accurately chart patient history and any current dermatological concerns Communicate with physician regarding patient concerns or status of conditions Assist physician in skin exams, biopsies, minor surgeries (Electrodessication and curettage, cryosurgery, cyst removals, skin cancer excisions) Educate patients on wound care, dermatologic conditions, medications as needed Prepare and administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as ordered by physician Remove staples/stitches and assess wound sites for infection Perform wound care and apply dressings following biopsies or excisions Prepare specimens for lab transport Communicate with physician regarding patient status and concerns Work alongside pharmacies, patients, and insurance companies to get medications approved Handle patient referrals to outside physicians or clinics as needed Triage patients via telephone and online portal, consulting with physician when necessary Complete prior authorizations for medications and procedures as needed Keep exam rooms clean and stocked Communicate results of labs, path and any tests ordered by physician to the patient promptly Conduct yourself in a kind and professional manner Comply with OSHA regarding logs and regulatory measures put in place by TDC
Our medical assistants play a vital role in representing the Physician and the portrayal of their practice. They must be confident, assertive, and approachable to be successful in their role. They must have respect for their Physician and their co-workers to acheve mutual respect.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
