Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role offers an opportunity to work in diverse clinical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital environments, and specialized units such as ICU, Geriatrics, and Emergency Medicine. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, medical procedures, and administrative support, contributing to high-quality healthcare delivery. Prior experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or trauma centers is highly valued. The position involves direct patient interaction, clinical procedures, and support for medical staff to ensure efficient operations and exceptional patient service.

Responsibilities



Assist with patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient and inpatient settings Support physicians with clinical tasks such as medication administration, wound care, and basic life support during emergencies Operate EHR systems efficiently to document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality Assist with ICD coding, anatomy knowledge application, and documentation for billing purposes Perform basic diagnostic procedures including X-ray preparation and assisting with laboratory tests Support hospital medicine units such as PICU or Geriatrics by providing patient service and clinical assistance Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to safety standards Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in Level I or Level II trauma centers or other specialized units Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions and ensuring comfort throughout their visit

Skills



Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration Experience working in dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or trauma centers preferred Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical administrative support tasks Ability to perform clinical duties such as vital signs collection, intake assessments, X-ray assistance, and emergency response (Basic Life Support certification required) Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients in PICU or outpatient settings Familiarity with inpatient/outpatient workflows across internal medicine or medical-surgical units Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or emergency departments Strong communication skills coupled with attention to detail for accurate documentation and effective teamwork

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
