Overview

Join Mid Michigan Foot and Ankle Center as a Medical Assistant and play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care. This paid position lets you support physicians across outpatient clinics, hospital units, and specialty areas while performing both clinical and administrative tasks. You'll help ensure smooth operations, accurate documentation, and a positive patient experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Duties

Perform patient intake and document medical histories and symptoms. Measure and record vital signs. Prepare patients for exams and ensure comfort. Assist providers with medications, BLS, and minor procedures. Operate diagnostic equipment, including X-ray machines. Maintain accurate EHRs and ICD coding. Support specialty areas such as dermatology, geriatrics, internal medicine, and emergency medicine. Collect specimens, assist with lab processing, and manage medications under supervision. Follow safety protocols in trauma and inpatient settings. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams in units like the OR or PICU. Provide patient service, answer questions, and schedule follow-ups.
Requirements

Experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient or hospital settings. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, ICD coding, and basic pharmacology. Proficiency with EHR systems. BLS certification; X-ray or emergency medicine experience preferred. Background in dermatology, geriatrics, hospital medicine, or urgent care is a plus. Strong skills in intake, vital signs, medication administration, and med-surg practices. Excellent communication and patient service skills. Flexibility with shifts; prior hospital experience preferred.
