Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care within a fast-paced medical environment, including a primary care, urgent care and addiction medicine This position requires a blend of clinical and administrative skills, ensuring that patients receive the best possible service while supporting the medical staff in delivering effective medical outcomes.

Responsibilities

Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Assist in patient examinations and procedures, providing support to physicians and nursing staff. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, utilizing medical terminology effectively. Assist with lab procedures by collecting and analyzing blood and urine samples, and labeling lab samples in accordance with physician instructions. Assist in the processing of prescriptions, referrals and authorizations as needed. Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy to assist in patient assessments and care. Deliver exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or similar role within a healthcare setting, including a demonstrated ability to "run" a front desk. Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy knowledge is essential. Familiarity with medication administration protocols and emergency medicine practices. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications in relevant areas are a plus. Experience working in a clinical environment is highly desirable but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide outstanding patient service. Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.
