Job Summary



We are seeking a

professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Assistants

to join our team. This position plays a vital role in supporting providers and ensuring smooth day-to-day clinical and administrative operations. The MA may be assigned to a specific provider or float between clinics as needed.

Responsibilities



Clinical



Collect and document vital signs, medical history, and other clinical data Administer medications, vaccines, injections, and treatments (per TN scope of practice) Perform CLIA-waived testing (e.g., strep, glucose, pregnancy) Assist with minor procedures and patient education Ensure accurate and timely charting in the EHR Maintain clean, stocked, and safe exam rooms

Administrative



Schedule appointments, labs, referrals, and authorizations Verify insurance, obtain pre-approvals, and handle patient prep instructions Follow up on diagnostic tests and ensure patients receive timely results Maintain equipment logs, safety checks, and medication inventory

Clerical



Answer phones, respond to messages, and assist patients with scheduling and inquiries Fax, scan, and prepare documents for provider review Order and manage supplies and support day-to-day front desk tasks

Customer Service



Greet patients and assist with any needs in a courteous and professional manner Promote a positive and patient-centered experience Uphold HMA's mission, values, and standards of ethical conduct

Qualifications



Required:



High School Diploma or GED Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program

OR

1+ year experience as an MA Current CPR certification TN Driver's License and insurance (if float position)

Preferred:



Experience with EHR system (e.g., EPIC) Prior outpatient clinic or multi-specialty practice experience Strong communication and teamwork skills
