We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant to join our urgent care team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care and support clinical operations across outpatient and inpatient settings. Responsibilities



Assist healthcare providers with patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately. Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to monitor patient health status. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding of the process. Support clinical procedures including medication administration, wound care, X-ray preparation, and basic life support when necessary. Maintain detailed documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy in medical records, ICD coding, and patient charts. Conduct routine diagnostic tasks such as taking X-rays or assisting with laboratory tests under supervision. Manage medical supplies inventory, sterilize equipment, and ensure clinical areas are clean and organized. Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, scheduling follow-up appointments, and coordinating care across various specialties like geriatrics, internal medicine, or surgical units. Support administrative functions including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and data entry to streamline clinic operations. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers to deliver urgent care when needed.

Requirements



Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient or inpatient settings; clinic experience preferred. Knowledge of dermatology, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or surgical procedures is highly desirable. Familiarity with EHR systems and medical terminology to ensure precise documentation. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications in X-ray operation or medication administration are a plus. Strong understanding of physiology and anatomy to assist with diagnostic procedures accurately. Experience working in hospital environments such as Geriatrics units, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or OR (Operating Room) is advantageous. Ability to perform intake assessments efficiently while maintaining compassionate patient interactions. Knowledge of ICD coding for accurate billing and record keeping is preferred. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence. Ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure situations typical of Level I Trauma Centers or emergency care settings. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
