We are seeking a compassionate, adaptable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team at a Rural Health Clinic. In this role, you will support healthcare providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse rural population. You'll perform both clinical and administrative duties, often serving as a key liaison between patients and providers.###
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Clinical Duties:
Prepare patients for examination and treatment
Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and symptoms
Assist with procedures, immunizations, and specimen collection
Perform basic laboratory tests
Maintain exam rooms and ensure cleanliness and readiness

Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records (EHR)
Handle phone calls, messages, and patient inquiries
Coordinate referrals and follow-up care

Community-Focused Duties:
Participate in outreach programs and health education initiatives
Assist with specialized clinics or home visits as needed
Support chronic disease management and preventive care efforts

QUALIFICATIONS:
###
MINIMUM
High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred, CNA and EMTs can work as MA in accordance to the 800 Rule
Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
CPR certification required
Prior experience in a rural or primary care setting is a plus
Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team
PREFERRED:
Bilingual preferred but not required

MELISSA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL:
Melissa Memorial Hospital is a 15-bed critical access hospital, located in Holyoke, Colorado. While being "rural" we are equipped for any situation. It is a model rural hospital with 1 operating room, surgical procedure room, 4 bay emergency room, and radiology including 64-slice CT scanner and mammography, MRI, ECHO, and Nuclear Medicine, along with other ancillary services. The hospital is co-located with a family practice clinic and retail pharmacy services. Other services include chemotherapy, general & orthopedic surgery, podiatry, cardiology, orthopedic surgery, progressive rehab services, and wound care. MMH operates a full-time EMS service and maintains a 24/7 AirLife Helicopter base.
