Job Description

This position is based out of the HFHS Novi EHS office however the expectation is this candidate will travel throughout South-East Michigan to help support EHS initiatives at various locations.


Medical Assistant Occupational Health - 40 Hours - Days


$2,500 Sign-on Bonus


Eligible for Full-Time Benefits


Shift: Days 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. No weekends.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.


Responsibilities:

Aids with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties including completing the Return-to-Work authorization checklist and process for associates returning from a leave of absence. Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Fulfills basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing. Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.

CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED:

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable. Comfortable working within and knowledge of EMR systems, medical terminology and computer platforms highly desired.
