Job Summary

VerityMD Neurology is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (MA) to join our growing virtual care team. This role focuses on chronic care management (CCM) and virtual assistant support for a neurology clinic.

The position is 100% remote, but candidates must be located in Wyoming for compliance with state and telehealth regulations.

You'll work closely with physicians and administrative staff to coordinate ongoing care for neurology patients while performing supportive clerical and documentation tasks -- all within the approved MA scope of practice.

Responsibilities

Chronic Care Management (Virtual Clinical Support)

Manage assigned patient panels for chronic care management. Conduct follow-up calls to review symptoms, medications, and care plans under physician supervision. Update care plan elements, vitals (as reported), and medication lists in the EHR. Document and summarize monthly CCM encounters for review and billing. Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and specialists to ensure continuity of care.
Virtual Clerical and Administrative Tasks

Prepare and send referrals to specialists, imaging centers, or therapy providers. Facilitate provider-directed lab, imaging, or procedure orders in the EHR for signature. Request and track outside medical records and hospital summaries. Perform pre-visit chart prep and verify documentation completeness before telehealth visits. Draft responses for DMV, disability, or employment forms for physician review and approval. Organize task lists and communicate updates through secure EHR messaging.
Team Support and Communication

Assist with scheduling, follow-ups, and coordination between clinical and administrative teams. Verify insurance or prior authorization requirements as directed. Flag relevant diagnoses and procedures to support accurate billing. Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and CMS guidelines.

Qualifications Certification: CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA (active and in good standing). Residency: Must currently live in Wyoming. Experience: 1-2 years in a clinical or telehealth environment (neurology preferred). Familiarity with chronic care management documentation and workflows.

Skills: Experience with EHR systems (EPIC, Kareo, or similar). Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication. Understanding of medical terminology, HIPAA, and patient-privacy regulations. Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a virtual team.

Compensation and Terms

Hourly rate: Based on experience and performance. Type: Contract / Non-Benefited (no health insurance, PTO, or retirement). Work hours and schedule flexible within physician-supervised requirements.
