About the Opportunity

Join a highly reputable hospital in Omaha, NE as a

Med Surg / Ortho Registered Nurse

on a 26-week travel assignment. This role offers exposure to a wide mix of patient conditions--including orthopedic trauma, joint replacements, colon resections, COPD exacerbations, GI bleeds, and more.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality bedside care to adult Med Surg / Ortho / Trauma patients Manage a busy patient load (1:5-6 ratio), including admissions, transfers, and discharges Administer medications and titrate drips (Heparin, Lidocaine, Ketamine); manage PCA pumps Collaborate closely with physicians, charge nurses, and patient care technicians Utilize telemetry awareness to monitor patient status and respond to acute changes Perform hourly rounding, enforce safety measures, and uphold infection control standards Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using

Epic EMR

Participate in unit-based training and orientation to ensure compliance and competency

Required Qualifications

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of Med Surg, Ortho, or Trauma nursing (travel experience preferred)

License:

Active RN license (NE or compact)

Certifications:

BLS required; ACLS preferred

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN) BSN preferred but not required

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment Excellent communication and collaborative skills with diverse patient populations Competency with mechanical lifts and safe patient handling techniques Ability to prioritize effectively, respond to emergencies, and maintain patient-centered care
