Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable

Vending Machine Technician

to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vending machine systems. This role also includes creating technical documentation such as operation manuals, repair guides, and standard procedures. Travel may be required to support field installations and on-site service requests.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Setup

Install new vending machines at customer sites, including electrical setup, calibration, and configuration. Conduct site assessments to ensure proper placement and functionality.

Testing

Perform functional testing on newly installed or repaired machines to ensure all components operate correctly. Run test cycles, validate payment systems, check product dispensing accuracy, and verify software settings. Document test results and identify areas needing adjustment or repair.

Troubleshooting & Repairs

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software issues on vending machines. Perform repairs, part replacements, and system resets as needed. Coordinate with suppliers or manufacturers for complex service issues.

Maintenance

Conduct routine preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend machine lifespan. Test machine functionality and verify proper operation after service.

Customer & Team Support

Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients and internal teams. Communicate clearly about repair timelines, required parts, and machine status.

Travel to customer locations for installations, repairs, testing, and emergency service calls as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred. Experience with electromechanical systems, appliances, or vending equipment strongly preferred. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with basic hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and multimeters. Good written communication skills for creating manuals and documentation. Valid driver's license and ability to travel.

Preferred Skills

Experience with PLCs, embedded systems, or low-voltage electronics. Basic understanding of refrigeration systems (for cooled vending units). Previous field service technician experience. Computer literacy for updating firmware, machine settings, or service logs.

Working Conditions

Field-based work at customer locations and some in-shop repairs. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in tight spaces during installations. Occasional evening or weekend service calls.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 30 per week
