Job Title: Mechanical Machine Builder Department: Assembly / Shop
Reports To: Shop Supervisor / Operations Manager Job Summary: This position is responsible for assembling Autotec Machine Systems according to the approved drawings and processes. Assembly plays a key role in cost, delivery, and quality of Autotec Equipment. The Assembler must be a team player, being able to both give ideas and direction as well as take ideas and direction. With an excellent reputation in the plastics sector, our business has evolved to include ever increasing robotics and automation across multiple industries. We supply turnkey systems featuring Finishing Systems, Pick & Place Robotics, Depalletizers, Palletizers, Labeling, Pallet & Slipsheet Handling, Case & Carton Handling, Conveyors and Sortation Systems. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to assemble, erect, and put together machines for customer orders
  • Communicate as required with other personnel on the same project
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all assembly tools
  • Measure and examine completed assemblies to detect defects and ensure conformance of specifications
  • Keep accurate track of time daily
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including the wearing of personal protective equipment which may include but not limited to; safety glasses, work boots, hearing protection, etc.
  • Maintain and secure work tools
  • Assist with service when required
  • Unloading of raw materials
  • Assist with loading and unloading of machinery
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Ability to operate a fork truck
  • Use precision measuring tools
  • Comfortable in a shop environment and use shop equipment correctly
  • Five years of assembly experience preferred
  • Manual dexterity required for challenging and high precision assembly work
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Ability to question quality of purchased and manufactured components and have the good sense to bring potential issues to the design engineers\xe2\x80\x99 attention
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and must be able to interface directly with Autotec team and customers when required
  • Willing and able to drive a car, or fly in an airplane
  • Willing and able to travel to customer locations inside and outside the United States
