Johnson Melloh is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator

to support our growing service projects team. This role is critical in the planning and execution of commercial design/build projects -- ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Design/Build Estimator, you will:


Analyze plans and specifications to prepare accurate budget estimates. Evaluate site requirements, scope changes, and vendor quotes to refine project costs. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop competitive bids. Coordinate meetings with clients, site managers, and internal teams to align project goals and timelines. Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations. Maintain detailed records of estimated vs. actual costs. Support contract negotiations to keep projects within budget. Work closely with the project management team to ensure alignment between estimates and execution.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum

5 years of experience

in mechanical and plumbing estimating for commercial projects. Strong understanding of design/build project workflows. Detail-oriented with a cost-conscious mindset. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Innovative thinker with a customer-first approach. Ability to propose creative, confident, and professional solutions.

Preferred (but not required):

Experience with

hydronic radiant floor heating systems
