General Functions: The Mechanical Engineer will work in a collaborative team environment under the supervision of General Manager. The Mechanical Engineer shall possess the ability to work directly with clients and lead the discussion during presentations, project meetings, shall have excellent communication (oral and written), analytical/problem solving skills, while leading and working within a multi-discipline team setting. A registered professional engineer (PE) with a license in Alaska or the ability to obtain a license in Alaska would be preferred, however, an experienced engineer that meets the requirements will also be considered. Salary level is dependent on licensing. Salary Range $100k-$120 non-PE and $150-$175k for a PE

Role and Responsibilities for Position:

  • Lead the design and construction administration of Bulk Fuel Storage and Transfer systems designs and alterations both new construction and working within existing facilities.
  • Familiarity with truck, rail, and marine loading/unloading systems design and specifications are required. API 650/653 knowledge is desired.
  • Familiarity or direct experience in the oil and gas industry is desired.
  • Experience with government contracting would be considered, depending on the project specifics.
  • Provide design and construction administration of HVAC systems for building projects, both new construction and renovation, within various market segments.
  • Lead clients and internal design team, including architects and engineers, through the planning and design for the mechanical systems for building projects, both new construction and renovation.
  • Produce high quality deliverables for Clients at all stages of design.
  • Serve as a primary contact with client and consultants for mechanical engineering design on projects.
  • Travel with team members for onsite collaboration, investigations, and project presentations.
Technical Job Requirements:
  • Minimum bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university, or equivalent years of industry experience will be considered. Other degree programs may also be considered based upon experience.
  • Experience in design of tank farms, loading racks, marine racks, rail racks, piping systems, valves, pumps, controls, data center cooling, commercial and light industrial building HVAC, central plants (including steam and chilled water systems) and/or government projects. Oil and Gas industry related experience will also be considered.
  • PE registration in AK or other reciprocal state.
  • 5+ years of industry experience minimum, 10+ years experience is preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft products, industry standard calculation software, assisting with cost estimating, and basic workstation level competence required.
