We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to specialize in the design of complex building systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in developing innovative, high-performance HVAC and mechanical systems for large-scale, multidisciplinary projects. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Lead and support the design of mechanical systems for large facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related systems.
Conduct comprehensive load calculations, equipment sizing, duct and pipe layout, and system integration.
Prepare detailed construction documents, including mechanical drawings and specifications.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, electrical engineers, and structural engineers.
Coordinate with project stakeholders, code officials, and contractors throughout all design and construction phases.
Perform site visits, surveys, and inspections during design and construction.
Ensure all designs comply with project requirements, local building codes (IBC, IMC), and sustainability goals (e.g., LEED, WELL).
Mentor junior engineers and review their work for accuracy and quality.
Contribute to project proposals and participate in client presentations as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
7+ years of mechanical engineering experience, with a focus on large, complex projects.
Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical calculation software (e.g., Trane Trace, HAP).
In-depth knowledge of ASHRAE standards and building codes (IBC, IMC).
Demonstrated experience with sustainable design practices and familiarity with LEED certification processes.
Exceptional communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Project management experience or PMP certification a plus.
