Position Overview
A confidential manufacturing organization is seeking a hands-on Continuous Improvement / Engineering Technician to support production, maintenance, and capital improvement initiatives. This role focuses on designing and implementing innovative solutions, improving equipment reliability, and supporting day-to-day operations through troubleshooting and process optimization. The position works closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams on both short-term improvements and larger capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement innovative solutions to support continuous improvement initiatives across production and maintenance operations.
Define project scope, develop solutions, and identify or acquire materials required for implementation.
Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams, with a strong hands-on approach to troubleshooting equipment and system issues.
Collaborate with the engineering team on larger capital projects, including equipment upgrades and new installations.
Develop, improve, and standardize production and maintenance methods and processes to increase efficiency and reliability.
Support maintenance teams by diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
Manage contractors and external service providers as needed to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within scope.
Track project budgets, schedules, and documentation; maintain accurate project databases.
Provide regular status updates to the Project Manager regarding progress, risks, costs, and schedule impacts.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience as an Engineering Technician.
2+ years of engineering experience or 5+ years of relevant technical experience in lieu of a degree.
Proven experience working across multiple computer platforms and technical systems.
Strong field experience with a hands-on, troubleshooting-focused mindset.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Circuit Design tools.
Experience with machine and equipment design involving electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Strong understanding of compliance, safety, and quality assurance standards within a manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting continuous improvement, reliability, or capital equipment projects.
You should be proficient in:

  • CAD Software
  • Root Cause Analysis
