Position Overview



The Mechanical Designer is responsible for developing detailed CAD models and design packages that support aerospace manufacturing and assembly operations. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, production, and customer teams to ensure designs are accurate, producible, and compliant with applicable standards and specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities



Develop detailed CAD models and drawings in compliance with aerospace standards and project specifications Create and maintain complex parametric parts and assemblies, including advanced surfacing and lofting Support manufacturing processes by collaborating with shop and engineering teams to ensure designs are producible Assist with tooling, fixtures, documentation, and design changes as required Participate in, initiate, and lead design reviews; present CAD models and provide technical explanations Incorporate feedback from engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and customer stakeholders Generate and maintain technical documentation including BOMs, revision histories, and revision notes Maintain aircraft configuration control through accurate tracking of design revisions, part interdependencies, and version control within CAD and PLM systems Communicate status, issues, and roadblocks clearly and proactively Work effectively under pressure while managing multiple priorities and deadlines Maintain professional, cooperative working relationships across teams Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications



Experience using SolidWorks for mechanical design and assembly modeling Strong mechanical design fundamentals, including practical application of GD&T Proficiency with solid modeling methodologies and complex parametric assemblies Capability to perform complex surfacing and lofting operations Experience generating and maintaining manufacturing-ready design packages Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and documentation control Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this role

Regulatory & Security Requirements



Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required) Willingness to enter and participate in a Continuous Evaluation program Ability to meet Special Access Program or other government access requirements as required
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
