Job Description

This role involves leading the design and development of RF and microwave connector applications, with a focus on improving manufacturing methods to meet customer requirements. The engineer will collaborate across teams to optimize performance and cost, while managing complex engineering projects from concept through implementation.
In this role, the Mechanical Design Engineer will:

  • Lead by example in applying engineering procedures and mentoring others on design processes and product knowledge.
  • Maintain deep expertise in core products and manufacturing methods to identify and recommend improvements.
  • Independently manage and execute design projects of varying complexity with minimal guidance.
  • Handle a high volume of design tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Participate in internal and external training opportunities and recommend relevant learning for the team.
  • Propose enhancements to departmental workflows and documentation practices.
  • Support production teams with design-related guidance and stay informed on industry trends and innovations.

A Successful Mechanical Design Engineer will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of RF and microwave principles, materials, and connector design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools for mechanical and thermal analysis.
  • Experience with precision machining, tolerancing, and manufacturing processes relevant to RF components.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards (e.g., MIL-STD, IPC).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple complex design projects.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
