Key Project Requirements

:

Mechanical commissioning experience on simple-cycle or combined-cycle power projects required Strong Balance of Plant (BOP) system expertise (fuel gas, lube oil, cooling water, air systems, pumps, tanks, piping) Experience performing mechanical walkdowns, system verification, flushing/blowing, and turnover documentation Ability to coordinate with construction, electrical, I&C, and DCS teams during system checkout and startup



Job Summary

:

NAES is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Lead to support mechanical system commissioning and turnover activities for a project in Oklahoma. This role will serve as the system owner for mechanical BOP equipment, overseeing all system readiness activities including walkdowns, mechanical completion verification, flushing/blowdown activities, equipment testing, and turnover package documentation. The Mechanical Commissioning Lead works closely with construction, electrical, I&C, and startup teams to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient system transition from construction to operations.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

:

Lead mechanical commissioning activities for BOP systems such as fuel gas, lube oil, cooling water, air systems, lube oil skids, pumps, tanks, and associated mechanical equipment Perform and oversee system walkdowns, verify system completeness, and generate/resolve punchlist items Coordinate flushing, blowing, pressure testing, leak checks, valve lineups, rotation checks, lubrication readiness, and equipment testing Support mechanical system turnovers including redlines, mechanical completion forms, and system documentation updates Collaborate with I&C and DCS teams to verify mechanical interlocks, permissives, feedback signals, and alarm logic related to mechanical systems Participate in daily commissioning and startup coordination meetings with EPC, owner's representatives, and operations teams Review P&IDs, vendor manuals, system boundaries, and engineering packages to ensure mechanical systems meet design and commissioning requirements Troubleshoot mechanical issues impacting system readiness, equipment performance, or startup sequencing Ensure mechanical commissioning work is executed safely and in compliance with site procedures, LOTO policies, and EPC protocols



Job Requirements

:

Strong understanding of mechanical commissioning processes for power generation or EPC projects Ability to interpret P&IDs, system drawings, isometrics, vendor documentation, and mechanical turnover packages Hands-on experience performing mechanical testing (flushing, leak testing, vibration checks, alignment, lubrication system verification) Experience working with EPC punchlist systems, turnover documentation, and structured commissioning workflows Ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines including construction, electrical, I&C, and startup operations Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot pumps, rotating equipment, valves, and mechanical BOP systems



Education / Experience

:

7+ years of mechanical commissioning experience on power generation or industrial EPC projects * Prior work on GE 7FA simple-cycle, GE Frame turbines, or gas turbine BOP systems strongly preferred
