Location:

Windsor, CT

Shifts Available:

1st Shift:

6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

2nd Shift:

3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (includes 7% shift differential)
Join a long-established manufacturer of

airport ground support equipment

as a

Mechanical Assembler

at our Windsor, CT facility. In this hands-on role, you'll help build large mobile power and air conditioning units--roughly the size of a compact car--that deliver essential services to aircraft while on the ground.

This is a

full-build position

, not repetitive assembly-line work. You'll be responsible for complete mechanical assembly from start to finish, working directly from blueprints and technical diagrams using a variety of hand and power tools.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Pay:

$20-$22/hour (based on experience)

Shift Differential:

+7% for 2nd shift

Annual Bonus:

Up to 10% of yearly earnings

Union Eligibility:

After 180 days

Wage Growth:

$2-$3/hour raise potential after permanent hire

Key Responsibilities

Assemble and install mechanical systems for large mobile ground support units Install and align components such as engines, sheet metal, brackets, and fasteners Follow detailed blueprints, diagrams, and written instructions accurately Operate tools including torque wrenches, pneumatic tools, and drills Inspect assemblies to ensure proper fit, alignment, and quality standards Work on complete unit builds--no repetitive production-line work Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant workspace

Qualifications

Minimum

1 year of hands-on mechanical assembly or related experience

(e.g., mechanic, equipment assembly, brake/lube technician) Skilled in the use of

hand tools, power tools, and general shop equipment

Ability to

read and interpret blueprints and mechanical diagrams

Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work around large industrial equipment Dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious team player

High school diploma or equivalent

required
