Job Description

Engage/NCG, Inc., a commercial printer in Northfield, MN, is seeking a bindery operator with a primary focus on folding. In addition to folding on an MBO Continuous feed folder, the bindery operator is responsible for operating and maintaining A Mark IV Saddle Stitcher and various hand bindery equipment as well as shipping and receiving responsibilities. The operator will produce a variety of customer projects, including brochures, booklets, flyers, direct mail and more. The operator must have excellent attention to detail, as he or she is expected to maintain high quality-control standards on behalf of our customers. When not operating bindery equipment, the operator may be asked to assist in other areas. Experience in a print environment is required, and training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Operate machines such as a Mark IV saddle stitcher, MBO folder, Polar Cutter, and other hand bindery equipment Operate machines that cut and trim printed materials along scribed lines. Read instructions to determine how a job should be run. Repair or replace broken machinery parts. Deliver jobs to customers Receive stock and maintain inventory Maintain safety and housekeeping standards by placing trash in the proper receptacles and clearing work areas of clutter.

Requirements

Aptitude for working with complex machines. Experience in a printing environment preferred Excellent attention to detail Good organizational and time management skills Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
