We are seeking a knowledgeable, patient, and motivating In-Person Mathematics Tutor to join our team. The tutor will work directly with students in grades [range, e.g., K-12] to strengthen math skills, build confidence, and support academic success. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about teaching, problem-solving, and helping students reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individualized or small-group tutoring sessions in mathematics, covering topics such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and/or calculus.
Assess students' strengths, areas for improvement, and learning styles to tailor instruction effectively.
Reinforce classroom concepts, assist with homework, and offer test preparation support (including standardized tests when applicable).
Develop engaging lesson plans, practice exercises, and activities to promote understanding and retention.
Track student progress and communicate regularly with parents, teachers, or administrative staff as needed.
Maintain a positive, supportive, and professional learning environment.
Adhere to organizational policies regarding scheduling, session documentation, and student safety.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in mathematics; advanced coursework or a degree in Mathematics, Education, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Prior tutoring or teaching experience is highly desirable.
Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt instruction to diverse learning needs.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to student success.
Must be able to work on-site at our learning center or partner school locations.
Background check required.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
