Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary:TheCoordMaterials Servicewill beresponsibleordering and stocking sterilization supplies.Orderingreplacement instruments for the Sterile Processing Department. Partnering with supply chain to research new product availability, following up on back ordered items.Checking for expired supplies, rotating supply inventory. He/she willalsobe responsible forthe activities related to decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of instrumentsfor procedures.The technician performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at SMC.

Position Requirements: Licensure/Certification/Registration: None Education: High School/GED Experience: One to three years' experience as a Central Sterile Technician or Operating Room Technician preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Basic to advance knowledge in the role of placingand receivingdepartment ordersthrough the supply chain system.Demonstrates good organizational skills. Communicates positively andprofessionallywith internal and external customers. Degree of Supervision Required:


Under supervision ofDepartmentDirector/designee.
