Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position



Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training in related area. Prior experience in materials or inventory management such as purchasing, distribution methods, supply chain techniques, processing functions, and product liability. Prior leadership or supervisory experience to select, train, motivate, recognize, supervise, evaluate the performance of staff and ensure operational success Supply Chain background Prior experience in managing shifting priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Solid knowledge of hospital materials management operations. Knowledge of resource management concepts and UC policies related to inventory management, etc. Knowledge of relevant internal policy and external guidelines. Demonstrated skills in employee supervision and HR administration. Leadership skills to motivate and inspire staff to improve materials management services. Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment. Solid organizational and customer service skills to structure unit operations and lead assigned staff in an efficient and effective manner. Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively, coordinate and integrate with others throughout the organization. Maintains cooperative working relationships with professional and administrative staff, peers, multidisciplinary team members, management, and outside agencies. Solid skills to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify resolutions within defined procedures and policies. Demonstrated ability to solve problems and suggest solutions through critical thinking process. Solid verbal and written communication skills to explain technical materials management concepts; actively listens, persuades, and provides advice and counsel. Ability to perform commonly applicable functions in word processing and spreadsheet software. Solid knowledge of organization's materials management application programs to troubleshoot issues and recommend improvements in convenience and efficiency. Strong data analysis skills.

Department Overview




Provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees. Functions as advisor to unit and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives.

Department Specific Job Scope




Supervises materials management professionals and may also supervisor routine staff. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources. Identifies ways to improve efficiency and utilization of materials management.
