The Material Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining operational supplies to support daily facility operations. This role includes ordering, receiving, stocking, and distributing materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, and communicating supply needs with all departments. The Material Specialist also performs delivery and pickup duties as required and ensures supplies are available, organized, and used safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Order, receive, store, and distribute operational and cleaning supplies.
Maintain accurate inventory levels and records; track usage and restocking needs.
Communicate regularly with all departments to assess supply needs and resolve shortages.
Ensure supplies are stored safely and in compliance with organizational and safety standards.
Deliver and transport materials between buildings or departments as needed.
Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly while performing driving duties.
Inspect supplies and materials for quality, accuracy, and damage upon receipt.
Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient storage area.
Maintain vehicle upkeep, including maintenance, registration and cleaning
May perform custodial duties as needed
Follow all safety procedures and organizational policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Facility Service Manager.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling.
Basic recordkeeping and communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning products, tools, and safe usage procedures.
Customer service mindset and teamwork orientation.
Certifications:
CPR and First Aid certification
Professional Crisis Management certification or willing to complete certification upon hire.
Must pass background checks and possess a valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, sit, bend, lift, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move intermittently. Use hands to handle or feel. Ability to turn on the knees, back, wrist, shoulders, and grasp with both hands. Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs frequently.
Availability on all days of the week, including weekends and holidays may be required.
