About the Role:

The Material Handler - Production at Owens Corning Reinforcement Solutions LLC plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials within the production environment. This position is responsible for storing, and distributing raw materials and finished products to support manufacturing operations. The role requires close coordination with production teams to maintain inventory accuracy and timely material availability, which directly impacts production schedules and overall operational efficiency. The Material Handler will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and organized work area, adhering to company safety standards and protocols. Ultimately, this position contributes to the seamless production process by managing materials effectively and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in a material handling or warehouse role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently. Basic computer skills to update inventory systems and communicate with team members. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Forklift certification or equivalent training. Experience working in a production or manufacturing setting. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to material handling. Ability to work flexible shifts including overtime as needed.

Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate inventory records by tracking material movement and updating inventory management systems. Collaborate with production supervisors to prioritize material delivery and ensure timely availability for manufacturing processes. Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance to ensure safe operation of material handling machinery. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Assist in organizing and maintaining clean and orderly storage areas to optimize space and accessibility. Support cycle counts and physical inventory audits as required.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Material Handler to efficiently manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials critical to production workflows. Operating forklifts and other equipment safely ensures materials are moved without damage or delay, supporting uninterrupted manufacturing processes. Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring materials are readily accessible when needed. Communication skills facilitate effective coordination with production teams and supervisors to prioritize material needs and resolve any issues promptly. Preferred skills such as forklift certification and familiarity with inventory software enhance the ability to perform tasks with greater efficiency and adherence to safety standards, contributing to overall operational excellence.

Pay: $18.50 - $22.73 per hour
