We are seeking a reliable and experienced Material Handler to join our team on the second shift in a fast-paced 3PL warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing inventory, running inventory in and out of freezer, and supporting warehouse operations with heavy equipment and order picking. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and adherence to OSHA safety standards. Prior warehouse experience is preferred to ensure smooth handling of materials and equipment.
Duties
Operating power industrial equipment safely and effectively, including pallet jacks and deslat machine.
Operate RF scanners dor managing inventory
Manage shipping and receiving processes, ensuring timely processing of goods
Stacking cases onto pallets with accuracy and timeliness, using proper lifting techniques.
Counting and checking materials to food quality standards, ensuring high level of accuracy.
Working most of the day in warehouse temperatures ranging from 34 to -20 degrees, wearing Company-provided cold weather gear.
Maintain safety protocols in accordance with OSHA regulations during all operations
Assist in the movement of materials within the warehouse, including load & unload tasks
Support warehouse management system updates and documentation for inventory accuracy
Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as pallet jacks and heavy machinery to ensure operational safety
Maintaining clean work areas suitable for food storage and distribution.
Collaborate with team members to meet daily productivity goals while maintaining a safe work environment
Experience
Prior experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving environments preferred
Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as a pallet jack and deslat machine
Strong time management
Ability to build consensus and foster positive relationships and to communicate across functional lines at all levels.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for inventory control
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and heavy equipment handling
Ability to lead as a team and work as a team member with a variety of people at all levels.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily tasks
High School diploma or GED.
Previous 2+yrs warehouse equipment experience; stand-up pallet jack prefered
Ability to accurately perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide) as required for daily warehousing tasks.
Willingness to follow and support all safety policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements & Schedule:
Core working hours are Monday to Friday, but in some situations will require Saturday hours based on customer needs. Overtime as needed.
Prolonged periods sitting and standing.
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and handle products both manually and with equipment.
Must have an acceptable driving record according to Company guidelines.
Ability to be in a multi-temperature warehouse environment with temperatures ranging from outside ambient to -10 degrees F. Cold-Link provides cold weather gear for staff members.
