Job Description


The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking Masters Swim Coaches for new programs at our Johnstown YMCA.

The Masters Coach is responsible for creating training plans, leading and coaching all workouts. They have knowledge of proper swim techniques and skills required for a safe and effective practice. They will create connections with members to understand their background and skills to effectively conduct practices.

Practice times in Johnstown are Tues/Thurs 5:00am - 6:00am, Sat 7:00am - 8:00am

You might be the right candidate if you are an energetic and enthusiastic individual with the ability to act in a caring and responsible manner. A team player with strong communication skills and strong competitive swim/coaching experience.

CERTIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ideal candidate will be an energetic and enthusiastic individual.
  • Must hold current certifications in First Aid, AED, Emergency Oxygen and CPR-PR or the willingness to obtain prior to start date.
  • Ability to act in a caring and responsible manner while fulfilling the expectations of the job
  • Must be a team player with strong communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of swimming rules and regulations
  • Must be able to coordinate meets, organize and distribute team\'s and staff\'s season plans and schedules.
  • Experience as a competitive swimmer preferred
  • USA Swimming Coach Certification/USA Masters Certifications completed prior to start date.
Salary range $16.50-29 per hour based on experience. Additional opportunities for youth and triathlon coaching, swim/stroke instruction and general/leadership aquatics are available. This position is part time, year round.

All Employees receive a free individual membership and anyone working 10+ hours receives a free family membership, 50-100% off our programs and if eligible, we contribute the equivalent of 10% of your salary to the YMCA Retirement Fund.

Full-time employees enjoy a minimum of 3 weeks of paid vacation, 88 hours of paid sick time, and 8 paid holidays per year. Free YMCA programs include: after-school programs, Camp NOCO traditional day camp, youth sports, learn to skate, and swim lessons. Discounted YMCA programs include: preschool, YMCA Camp Santa Maria overnight camp, personal training, and specialty summer camps. The Y offers generous medical, dental, and vision benefits. We provide long-term disability and life insurance at no cost to full-time employees.

Part-Time employees also receive paid sick time at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
