Our company designs, builds, provides installation, customer service, and product support at both our Rathdrum, Idaho and London, Kentucky locations.

Summary

We are seeking a Master Planner to join our dynamic team in Rathdrum. The Master Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the production schedule to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. This role coordinates operations, procurement, engineering, and sales to align manufacturing capacity with demand forecasts, customer orders, and material availability. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in heavy equipment manufacturing, proficient with ERP/MRP systems, with a track record of improving scheduling efficiency and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer demand, inventory targets, and capacity constraints. Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Production teams to gather accurate job demand and lead time information. Use ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred) to release jobs, manage reschedules, and ensure material and labor availability. Analyze load vs. capacity and adjust schedules to avoid bottlenecks while optimizing machine and labor utilization. Monitor schedule adherence and provide regular reports on OTD (On-Time Delivery), WIP, and Schedule Attainment. Resolve scheduling conflicts due to material shortages, labor constraints, or unexpected breakdowns. Support production meetings and provide visibility into upcoming work center loading and job priorities. Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to reduce lead times and improve flow. Maintain documentation of scheduling processes, change orders, and configuration revisions.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of planning staff. Supervise scheduling coordinators, planners, and support staff. Assign scheduling tasks and monitor progress. Provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to all direct reports that is timely and constructive. Conduct regular reviews and provide constructive feedback. Manage disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and employee development plans. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the department.

Experience and Skills

5+ years of experience in production scheduling or planning in a heavy manufacturing, custom manufacturing or job shop environment. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, fabrication, assembly, and painting. Proficient in using ERP systems (Epicor Kinetic preferred) Experience with Make-to-Order (MTO), Engineer-to-Order (ETO), and Make-to-Stock (MTS) environments. Demonstrated ability to generate a Bill of Materials from prints automatically or manually. Demonstrated ability to work in high-mix, low-volume production settings with long lead times and complex BOMs. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills. Strong data analysis capabilities using Excel. Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, kanban, and capacity planning. Ability to manage competing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Base Pay: $62,500.00 - $80,000.00 per year
