We are seeking a skilled Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and construction, with experience in various techniques and materials. This role involves working on diverse projects, including new builds, renovations, and restorations. The Mason will be responsible for ensuring high-quality workmanship while adhering to safety standards and project timelines.
Responsibilities
Construct, repair, and maintain structures made of brick, block, stone, and other materials.
Perform concrete forming and finishing tasks to create durable surfaces.
Install rebar and perform plastering as required for structural integrity.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to execute projects accurately.
Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various masonry tasks.
Engage in hardscape projects including patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
Collaborate with other trades such as carpentry, roofing, and tile laying to ensure cohesive project execution.
Conduct renovation work while maintaining the aesthetic quality of existing structures.
Operate heavy equipment when necessary for site preparation or material transport.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations on the construction site.
Requirements
Proven experience in masonry with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
Proficiency in concrete forming, finishing, rebar installation, and stucco application.
Familiarity with construction estimating practices to assess project needs accurately.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics effectively.
Experience with trim carpentry, frame carpentry, metal stud framing, and caulking is a plus.
Strong knowledge of restoration techniques for historical buildings is advantageous.
Excellent physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods in various weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
