A martial arts instructor at the YMCA is responsible for teaching martial arts skills and techniques to students of all ages and abilities. The instructor will develop lesson plans, lead classes, and provide individualized instruction to help students improve their physical fitness, self-discipline, and self-defense abilities. The instructor will also be responsible for promoting a safe and supportive learning environment and encouraging students to develop their confidence and respect for themselves and others. Additionally, the instructor will assist in organizing and running martial arts events and competitions, and will work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a high-quality program. The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in martial arts, experience working with children and youth, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members when it comes to desired staff behaviors; promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job-related functions.
