King County Metro, the largest transit agency in the northwestern U.S., seeks to hire two Marketing Specialists. The ideal candidates will lead public awareness and behavior change campaigns that support our mission to deliver safe, frequent and welcoming public transit. We're looking for innovative problem-solvers who know how to influence decisions and shift public perceptions through creative, targeted, and thoughtful marketing initiatives.
Serving a county with a population larger than 15 U.S. states, Metro provides bus, paratransit, vanpool, water taxi, and on-demand services, and operates the Seattle Streetcar, Sound Transit Link light rail and Sound Transit Express buses. Metro is a three-time winner of Best Large Transit Agency in North America, as awarded by the American Public Transportation Association. Metro was also named the Most Equitable Agency in Tackling Climate Change by the Federal Transit Administration.
Position Info: This recruitment will be used to fill two (2) Career Service Communications Specialist III classification vacancies. In addition, this selection process may be used to generate an eligibility list for future Special Duty Assignment (SDA), Term Limited Temporary (TLT), and Career Service (CS) vacancies that may occur in this classification within this workgroup. The eligibility list will be retained for 12 months from the date of posting and may be used at the discretion of the hiring authority.
