POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing Automation Developer is responsible for enabling automated, integrated marketing campaigns that support the execution of digital marketing programs. This role provides expertise in marketing automation processes, data mapping for journeys and emails, system integrations, development of journey triggers, and data hygiene processes. With expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and a broader understanding of marketing communications strategy and implementation, the Marketing Automation Developer supports organizational business goals and helps the business enhance its relationship with b2b and b2c stakeholders. This position works closely with the Manager, Digital Engagement, members of the Brand & Engagement Strategies team, the Business Applications team, the organization\xe2\x80\x99s Digital Transformation teams, and other subject matter experts across the organization to support the development and implementation of marketing communications activities that help move people toward engaging with our brand. This includes strategies related to growth, retention, health and wellness, and more. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Implements technical aspects for marketing communications strategy
  • Gathers technical requirements, user stories, and data needs to build requested technical solutions on the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform. This may require working collaboratively with the Digital Transformation and/or Business Applications teams.
  • Build the automations, data connections, and journey flows necessary to support the execution of digital marketing communications programs.
  • Monitors the flow of data between SFMC and connected systems, including automations, send logs, data extensions, and filters.
  • Work with key stakeholders to document the processes and workflows for proper data entry in Salesforce (or other connected systems) in order to get the needed data into Salesforce Marketing Cloud. The position will then conduct ongoing monitoring of the processes to help ensure real-time, clean data continually flows into Marketing Cloud.
  • Helps identify best practice opportunities and provides operational support for utilizing Salesforce Marketing Cloud to meet business needs.
Manages the design and delivery of technical solutions
  • Conducts solutions testing and validation, identifying potential issues and risks; helps develop mitigation strategies to alleviate these challenges.
  • Verifies and conducts quality assurance checks of new work within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, tests integrations between the Blue Cross website and Salesforce Health Cloud and Salesforce Marketing Cloud and troubleshoots and problem solves technical issues.
  • Collaborates to implement and improve data quality and mapping that feed additional 3rd party business tools, such as Relay Network, to ensure the correct data enters each marketing communications campaign.
  • In coordination with the Digital Communications Strategist, manages email deliverability, database hygiene, subscription management, and compliance with global opt-in laws and regulations.
  • Understand Salesforce core functionality, reporting, and Marketing Cloud connectors between Salesforce and Marketing Cloud function.
Collaborates within the organization
  • Participates in meetings on the technical and business challenges related to customer marketing operations initiatives.
  • Identifies project issues/risks and presents alternatives to alleviate or resolve them.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams including the Digital Transformation teams, Business Applications, Client Solutions, Consumer and Business Support Services, and others
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science or similar fields; master\xe2\x80\x99s degree a plus
  • 2+ years experience with HTML and AMPscript, SSJS, and SQL
  • 4+ years hands on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (or similar CRM platforms)
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer or Administrator Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of various integration patterns (API, Batch, Event) to/from Marketing Cloud
  • Business Process and Requirements Gathering experience as part of Salesforce implementations.
