What you will do
Provides technical support to manufacturing systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including SOPs, Calibration, Preventive Maintenance, and Change Controls within Manufacturing and Packaging areas.
Supports preventive maintenance programs for production equipment and oversees their implementation to reduce or eliminate equipment failures.
Trains Maintenance Technicians and Mechanic Operators on machine adjustments, control systems, electrical troubleshooting, setups, and repairs.
Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and EHS regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Compliance
Adhere to GMP requirements and all applicable company procedures.
Promptly identify, report, and correct deviations in the workplace.
Uphold integrity and promote employee involvement in doing the job right the first time.
EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety)
Comply with all EHS trainings, policies, and ISO 14001 standards.
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure proper use of PPE.
Participate in waste reduction, recycling, and energy efficiency initiatives.
Report incidents or unsafe conditions promptly.
Technical & Operational Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day troubleshooting support for manufacturing and packaging equipment.
Lead troubleshooting of complex electrical and mechanical issues.
Recommend equipment upgrades and improvements to increase productivity.
Ensure proper spare parts inventory for manufacturing equipment.
Conduct technical training on vision systems, electrical troubleshooting, and setups.
Perform root-cause analyses and implement preventive/corrective actions.
Support process improvement and change control projects.
Collaborate with IT, Engineering, and Quality for validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) of computerized systems.
Design and implement manufacturing systems (e.g., control systems, vision systems, barcodes).
Participate in corporate and local project initiatives and committees.
Leadership & Collaboration
Supervise contractors or employees as assigned.
Ensure compliance with ISO14001 standards and recycling/waste management programs.
Represent the company in cross-functional teams and corporate groups.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or Information Systems.
OR
Associate Degree in the same fields with a minimum of
4 years
of experience in Control Systems, Electromechanics, Electronics, or Instrumentation within the pharmaceutical industry.
Experience
Minimum
2 years
working with Production Equipment, Computerized Systems, and Control Systems (PLC, HMI, Cognex, Vision Systems).
Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Pharmaceutical manufacturing or packaging experience is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Bilingual (English/Spanish - oral & written).
Strong knowledge of cGMP and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in Elau, Allen Bradley PLCs, Rockwell Software, and data communication protocols.
Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems.
Ability to travel within and outside Puerto Rico.
Willingness to work extra hours and respond to emergency calls.
Flexibility to support other departments or projects as needed.
What's in it for you
Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:
$50.957,50 - $71.940,00
This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
