What You Get To Do:
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician performs engineering work supporting the manufacturing of the Company's products. This position helps to research, design develop, test, and implement new and innovative processes which promote the Company's mission and continued growth. This position will assist with troubleshooting, testing, and modifying processes and equipment to increase productivity and reduce waste while adhering to safety and quality standards.
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician is expected to assist with the full range of engineering products, process development, and machine troubleshooting work, while collaborating with the Production and Planning Team, Product Management, Engineering, and IT while projects are taken from inception to full implementation. General knowledge of manufacturing techniques and electro-mechanical equipment and processes is required.
Challenge Yourself - The Specifics:
Assists in the design, setup, and improvement of manufacturing processes (SOPs) and workflows.
Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots machinery and equipment used in manufacturing processes.
Troubleshoots and resolves production issues related to equipment, processes, and materials.
Supports the training of operators and other team members on new processes and equipment.
Assists in the creation and maintenance of SOP and work instruction documents.
Collaborates with other teams including Engineering, Product Management, IT, and Quality Control to ensure products are made to the highest possible standard.
Assists with systemic improvement activities, including streamlining, standardization of documentation, change control, quality, and transfer processes, implementing quality and safety controls and improvements.
Supports Manufacturing Engineering in the investigation of field problems affecting customers and company operations.
Attends meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions and reviews publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in LED lighting product development.
Performs other duties as assigned.

BOMs, SOPs, and Work Instructions in modern manufacturing environments
Modern ERP and SKU configurator systems
Broad range of electro-mechanical equipment and processes
Basic principles, practices, and procedures related to the scientific method of problem solving
Practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, and making sound recommendations
Manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control techniques
Ability to:
Understand, read, and interpret engineering plans, schematics, technical drawings, specifications, and other design documents
Build, modify, and problem solve prototypes
Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner; organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines
Perform mathematical computations
Excellent listening and communication (verbal and written) skills
Establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships
Safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds and heavier using proper equipment
Positions in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform work
Education and Experience:
High School diploma and two (2) years of experience in a related manufacturing environment or Associate's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field
