Inside the Role Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June.
Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability.
As a Manufacturing Engineer Intern at the Cleveland plant, you will support key initiatives to improve production efficiency, quality, and safety. This role involves hands-on experience with tools and equipment, assisting in the design and optimization of manufacturing processes, and supporting continuous improvement projects on the shop floor. You will collaborate with engineers and operators to analyze current workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement practical solutions. Tasks may include creating work instructions, developing layouts, conducting time studies, and supporting tooling or fixture design. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain real-world engineering experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, contributing directly to operational excellence and lean manufacturing goals.

Salary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $29 per hour.

What You Drive at DTNA

• Participate in in-plant quality improvement activities.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in manufacturing activities.
• Complete necessary documentation and present to management for proposals.
• Work with the team to implement continuous improvement across the plant.
• Design and build kit carts, any fixtures, or tools that improve the process.

Knowledge You Should Bring

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program or higher from an accredited college/university OR have recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date (May/June)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required
• Experience or familiarity with Power BI preferred
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving mindset, and a hands-on approach to process improvement preferred
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Solid organizational skills
• Creative mindset
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
