The Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) Business Unit acquires and maintains relationships with millions of merchants who welcome American Express. The Merchant Acquisition and Sales Enablement (MASE) team is a nationwide sales and enablement organization within the B2B Product, Acquisition, Client Management and Enablement (B2B PACE) team and is responsible for signing and enabling U.S. merchants for AXP Card acceptance through selling differentiated value to merchants in a compliant manner.


Reporting to the Vice President, MASE,we are currently seeking a Manager Assistant, who will lead the business planning and management of the MASE Executive Office and a team of 100+ colleagues. This position provides a unique opportunity for an individual looking to strengthen his/her knowledge and experience of the Merchant Services business, while playing a critical role in supporting the MASE Senior Leadership Team, as well as the B2B PACE Senior Leadership Team, in development of strategy and execution of business goals.


The Manager Assistant will be a key member of the MASE Leadership Team of four Vice Presidents and as such should possess strong thought leadership, outstanding communication skills, have high attention to detail, and importantly have a proven record of success operating independently and within a high performing team environment. Critical to the role is a proactive and collaborative nature, flexibility, and an eagerness to work on a variety of projects and initiatives.

Key responsibilities will include:



Partner with the VP and MASE Leadership Team to develop and drive organizational strategy.
Support the B2B PACE Executive Office in projects and enterprise initiatives that support the business and overall efficiency of the team.
Manage and execute day-to-day business planning and support the B2B PACE Executive office in operational processes including the investment planning (SQP) process, financial plan, Business Unit reviews, own budget and investment tracking and colleague engagement teams.
Lead key colleague activities such as annual goal setting, development planning, talent assessments and annual performance reviews (PMP) working in lock step with the B2B PACE Executive office.
Develop presentations for key internal and external audiences of all levels, including BURs and Town Halls.
Coordinate with key stakeholders and teams to develop and manage a calendar of activities for the MASE organization and ensuring seamless delivery.
Provide strategic and tactical support on a range of complex issues and projects specific to the MASE partners as required.
Collaborate with the B2B PACE, MS - U.S. & GMNS business teams, Finance, Pricing, Global Strategy and Capabilities, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Affairs & Communications, Operational Risk and other internal partners on key strategic initiatives and deliverables.
Proactively and collaboratively co-ordinate with the B2B PACE, MS - U.S. and GMNS Executive Offices, and other AXP organizations and external entities as required to address deliverables.
Coordinate and execute critical meetings, such as VP leadership planning meetings

Minimum Qualifications



Proven written and oral communications skills for Executive & Senior Leadership, including the creation of Business Unit Reviews (BURs) and quarterly townhalls is highly preferred. Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
Highly motivated self-starter with ability to juggle multiple tasks, with excellent organization skills and careful attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously.
Able to efficiently prioritize, solve problems independently/with limited guidance, escalate appropriately, manage tight deadlines, and handle changing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
With a strong track record of being able to navigate and influence across teams and business units, to get things done and deliver results.
Experience in Merchant Services U.S. and a deep understanding of the B2B landscape preferred.
Naturally curious and able to 'figure things out'
Demonstrated solid financial acumen.
Strong sense of integrity with the ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.


Salary Range: $89,250.00 to $150,250.00 annually + bonus + benefits
