The Technical and Equipment Manager will serve as a technical advisor that is responsible for overall maintenance, repair and/or replacement of plant manufacturing equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate employee development and training opportunities that promote maximum productivity and position the employee for increased responsibilities and job growth.
Prepares and coordinates maintenance resources and provides recommendations for capital and continuous improvement projects.
Coordinate services with vendors, service technicians, and other contractors.
Engineer solutions and identify key weaknesses to run production smoothly.
Provides leadership and supervision to the Maintenance team in the assignment and coordination of work to ensure safety, quality, and maximum production efficiencies.
Oversees, plans, and issues work orders to appropriate shift team members for the implementation of equipment modifications as well as preventative and any corrective maintenance.
Identifies training gaps and develops training plans as needed.
Order products every month to keep production running (ink, solvent, glue).
Order parts and tools for the maintenance team to ensure they have the tools needed to get the job done.
Implement a maintenance program that will reduce downtime, identify weaknesses, and track physical inventory.
On call for any issues related to the downtime of machines.
Submits weekly reports as required. (Emergency repairs, Expenditures, Preventative Maintenance, Machine Down-time, Scheduled Maintenance, and Machine Improvement).
Maintain machine history files along with schematics, manuals and any relevant information on all equipment.
Maintain inventory system of all critical parts and supplies to ensure minimum and maximum quantities are on-hand.
Cut cost by working closely with vendors to get better pricing on parts vs ordering from the manufacturer.
Work with the Food Safety department to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
Establish routine, open two-way communication with Production Supervisors and Managers to obtain feedback on equipment and machinery performance.
Offers recommendations and makes changes to improve plant operations in respect to quality, efficiency, safety and/or sanitation.
Makes recommendations for Maintenance Budget.
Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's).
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management
Management experience in operations, maintenance, engineering and/or process improvement roles, including managing teams of people
* Possesses 5-7 years of experience in industrial automation, PLCs, pneumatics, and hydraulics
