Responsibilities

For more than 50 years, Northwest Behavioral Health has provided mental health treatment to individuals from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Colorado. Located on the campus of Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, Texas, we offer behavioral health treatment services for children, adolescents, adults, seniors and uniformed service members. Our facility has 6 inpatient units with 106 beds. Additional services we offer include 24 hours a day free behavioral health assessments, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient mental health and substance use programs, clinic-based psychiatry and therapy services. New service offerings coming in 2021 include ECT, virtual reality exposure therapy, bio neurofeedback and CBT-I for insomnia. POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager is responsible for ongoing, effective operations and the assessment and improvement of activities. Such responsibilities encompass the internal functioning of the department, which facilitates the functioning of the overall organization. The Manager supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups.

PROVISION OF SERVICES: Demonstrates leadership in the provision of departmental services through a collaborative process designed to integrate services/functions throughout NWTHS. Participates in and supports a process to measure, assess, and improve performance of management, clinical, and/or support services. Maintains regulatory compliance as related to Joint Commission, CMS, TDSHS, and the Board of Nursing.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: * Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current licensure/permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
  • BSN required or must complete within 2 years
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire or within 30 days of start date and maintain certification throughout employment. This must be obtained prior to providing patient care.
  • Minimum of 2 years leadership experience preferred
  • Appropriate clinical experience
  • The following are required and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Heart Hospital
  • ACLS completion within 3 months
  • Adult Critical Care
  • ACLS completion within 3 months
  • TNCC
  • WIH
  • ACLS completion within six (6) months of hire or promotion, and maintain certification throughout employment
  • NRP completion within six (6) months of hire or promotion, and maintain certification throughout employment
  • Intermediate fetal monitoring (AWHONN) first available class after 6 months of hire and must maintain must maintain throughout employment
  • STABLE within 12 months of hire or promotion; does not have to be maintained
  • Children\xe2\x80\x99s
  • PALS completion within six (6) months of hire or promotion, and maintain certification throughout employment
  • NRP completion within six (6) months of hire or promotion, and maintain certification throughout employment
  • STABLE within 12 months of hire or promotion; does not have to be maintained
