Job Description

Mendocino Railway is the owner/operator of passenger and freight railroads including River Fox Train. The River Fox operates between West Sacramento and Woodland along the Sacramento River, its office is located at 18095 CR 117, W. Sac 95691, just off I-5 at Exit 22.

We are a unique entertainment venue looking for outgoing individuals with an aptitude for fun and hard work to join the crew as part-time Bartender/servers. Bartender/servers are experienced with bar service & table side service. They are knowledgeable about our menu/offerings and delivering a great customer experience

As an entertainment venue, we require staff to have nights, weekend and holiday availability. Our most popular holidays are Easter, Halloween, and Christmas and schedules are subject to adjust around these times.

Job Summary:



The Manager on Duty (MOD) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the outdoor hospitality venue during scheduled shifts. This includes managing staff, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining safety standards, and responding to any operational issues that arise. The MOD acts as the primary point of contact for guests and staff, ensuring smooth execution of events and activities.

Key Responsibilities:



Operational Oversight

Supervise all on-site activities during events and regular operations. Ensure all areas of the venue are clean, safe, and guest-ready. Monitor and manage crowd flow, parking, and guest movement.

Guest Services

Serve as the main point of contact for guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback. Resolve guest issues promptly and professionally. Ensure a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all visitors.

Staff Management

Lead and support event staff, including vendors, security, and volunteers. Conduct pre-shift briefings and assign tasks. Monitor staff performance and provide guidance as needed.

Safety & Compliance

Enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures. Ensure compliance with local regulations and venue policies. Respond to incidents and coordinate with emergency services if necessary.

Reporting & Communication

Document shift activities, incidents, and guest feedback. Communicate effectively with upper management and other departments. Provide post-event reports and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:



Previous experience in hospitality, event management, or customer service. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Skills:



CPR/First Aid certification. Experience with crowd management or large-scale events. Familiarity with scheduling and staff coordination tools.
