Position Summary:

The Manager oversees all daily hotel operations, ensures exceptional guest experiences, and drives business objectives. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, operational expertise, and a passion for hospitality. The GM leads department heads and associates to maintain the high standards of The Inn and Club at Harbour Town, including Forbes standards of excellence.



Key Responsibilities:


Leadership & Team Management




Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing service-driven team. Oversee hiring, training, and professional development to ensure operational excellence. Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture aligned with the hotel's values. Ensure clear communication and collaboration across all departments.

Guest Experience & Satisfaction





Maintain exceptional guest service standards in alignment with Forbes expectations. Monitor guest feedback and resolve issues quickly while driving continuous improvement. Collaborate with sales and marketing to enhance guest engagement and loyalty. Oversee all guest touchpoints to ensure a seamless experience from arrival to departure.

Knowledge and Implementation of Forbes Standards




Demonstrate deep knowledge of Forbes Travel Guide standards and lead efforts to maintain compliance. Ensure hotel operations reflect Forbes guidelines for luxury hotels. Conduct regular Forbes training for staff and promote a culture of excellence. Oversee Forbes inspections and address any deficiencies proactively.

Financial Management & Revenue Optimization




Monitor operational costs while optimizing revenue and managing expenses. Work with revenue management to analyze trends and maximize profitability. Approve pricing for rooms, packages, and services to stay competitive.

Operations & Quality Control




Oversee daily operations for all hotel departments. Ensure compliance with health, safety, regulatory, and Forbes quality standards. Maintain property cleanliness, maintenance, and aesthetic excellence. Implement and uphold standard operating procedures.

Strategic Planning & Reporting




Provide regular performance reports, including financials and guest satisfaction data. Develop long-term strategies to enhance operations, guest experience, and profitability. Participate in development and renovation projects aligned with brand and guest needs.

Qualifications:




Minimum 5 years of senior leadership experience in hotel management, including 3 years as a General Manager or Director of Operations at a luxury hotel with Forbes standards. Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).

Skills & Competencies:




Proven leadership across multiple departments. Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and forecasting. In-depth knowledge of Forbes luxury standards and maintaining high ratings. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strategic thinker with business growth experience. Strong understanding of hotel operations and guest service. Familiarity with property management systems and booking engines. Strong problem-solving and attention to detail. Passion for hospitality and exceptional guest experiences.

Physical Requirements:




Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
