NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs





If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs. If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range





$138,600 - $235,500
  • Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate\'s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.


What Your Job Will Be Like





We are seeking an enthusiastic, service-oriented Information Systems Engineering Manager, to oversee the newly established High Security Operations (HSO) Mission IT department, responsible for provide IT services to various Sandia mission areas that serve DOE, DoD, and the Intelligence Community. The manager of this organization must enable and oversee the architecture, implementation and maintenance of secure Computing and Networking Infrastructure to satisfy the unique requirements of the Intelligence Community. The organization designs and maintains enabling technology on numerous classified networks. The ability to manage with excellence in an environment with rapidly changing and numerous competing priorities and security requirements is imperative. As such, ensuring the infrastructure is properly designed, implemented and maintained and that the associated services are well measured and managed, will be key to success. As the Manager of an IT Service organization, it will be critical to build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with peer managers, mission customers across numerous programs, oversight at DOE-IN and Other Government Agencies (OGAs), as well as Sandia partners, and internal and external IT suppliers. The department personnel are motivated in their careers, so ensuring they are given proper support and career development guidance will be important. Safety and security are also of prime importance and critical to the overall success of the team.

Qualifications We Require




  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Networking, Computer Science or Engineering or a related field plus eight or more years of experience working in a relevant information technology field. -OR-
    • other undergraduate degree with a minimum of 16 years of relevant/exempt-level experience (in lieu of technical degree).
  • Two or more years of experience managing and or leading teams, projects, or programs.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
  • Direct experience architecting and maintaining IT Infrastructure.
  • Formal Project Management experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph test.


Qualifications We Desire





Ideally, we would like to see your background include some of the following:
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Networking, Computer Science or Engineering or a related field.
  • Prior experience managing an IT Service organization
  • ITIL Certification and experience implementing ITSM processes and or functions.
  • Project Management Certification
  • Experience working with Federal Government Agencies such as DOE, DOD, and the Intelligence Community.
  • An Active SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph test.

Security Clearance





Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance and SCI access, both of which require US citizenship.
