Position Summary



Position Summary:

The Manager of the Business Intelligence (BI) Analytics Team oversees and is accountable for the team\xe2\x80\x99s performance to ensure the achievement of departmental and IT goals and objectives. The Manager is responsible for hiring, onboarding, ongoing employee training, performance management, and personal development of the members of the team. Manages the performance of the team by providing timely and constructive feedback to staff and to foster continued staff growth and development. Manages the work of the team including allocation of resources and priority setting in conjunction with Project Management. This includes collaborating with other managers in the IT department, as well in the operational business units, on issues and projects across the organization. The manager also provides leadership to continuous process improvement efforts within the team and works with the team to develop and document standard work.

Key Outcomes:

  • Provide leadership for the BI Analytics Team including expectation setting, mentorship, skillset development and performance evaluation, feedback, and guidance to the team to ensure high performance.
  • Support team members in executing individual and team milestones/goals by removing barriers and solving problems in support of team goals.
  • Develop and manage policies and procedures, standardization, of the BI Analytics Team operations to support efficient operations.
  • Ensure the BI Analytics Team adheres to and advocates for established IT Policies and Procedures to ensure standardization of operations.
  • Acts as an active member of the IT Leadership Team focusing on quality decision making, future needs and initiatives, strategic vision and fostering a culture of trust, quality work, and continuous growth and learning resulting in a high-performance work environment.
  • Aligns with all leaders within IT and the business to ensure collaboration and common understanding of the work required to develop and support Martin\xe2\x80\x99s Point strategies and plans in support of business partner needs.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal IT leadership, as well as internal business partners and external vendor relationships to keep initiatives in scope and on schedule.
  • Participates in development, management, and execution of the IT initiatives to support the IT portfolio.
  • Monitors and consults with departmental resources on all aspects of projects to ensure adherence to established project goals, milestones, and budget requirements to support the IT portfolio.
  • Manage vendors, consultants, and outside contacts to ensure strong partnership, service, and performance.
  • Research emerging technologies to make recommendations of applicable solutions to the BI Analytics Team platforms and internal customers.
  • Develops programs, forums, and other mechanisms to promote a data driven culture across the organization as well as promote best practice and QA procedures for decentralized analysts.
  • Works with the Director to develop enterprise strategies to align resources with business priorities.
  • Works with other Data & Analytics teams to develop and document common methodologies, definitions, and databases for analytic reporting, ensuring accuracy, eliminating duplication of effort, and providing a forum for creative problem solving.
  • Creates and maintains work plan for BI Analytics Team including allocation of resources and priority setting in conjunction with the Director of Data & Analytics.
  • Provides consultation to all levels of management relating to appropriate use of data assets at Martin\xe2\x80\x99s Point.
  • Creates processes that assure the quality of data and reporting output of the team.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent work experience in Health Care or Business Administration.
  • At least 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in health care industry, from payer or provider perspective.
  • At least 7 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in delivery of business intelligence/management reporting services utilizing structured data warehouses or data marts.
  • Prior experience with project management.
  • At least 3 years leadership experience.
