Position Summary
The Manager Analytics Engineering and Data Architecture is a visionary leader responsible for building, mentoring, and directing a high-performing team of Analytics Engineers and a Data Architect. This role drives the strategy, design, and implementation of enterprise-scale data platforms, advanced analytics solutions, and robust data models that power mission-critical, operational, and financial decision-making. The manager ensures the team leverages cutting-edge technologies and best practices in cloud data engineering, data modeling, and analytics, while fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, quality of work, and continuous improvement. This position partners with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable data infrastructure and actionable insights that maximize organizational impact and competitive advantage.
Responsibilities

  • Leads, mentors, and develops a team of Analytics Engineers and Data Architects, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance culture
  • Sets the vision and strategy for enterprise data architecture, analytics engineering, and data governance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices
  • Oversees the design, development, and optimization of complex data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and analytics solutions across cloud and on-premises platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure, AWS, Snowflake, and on-prem SQL Servers)
  • Champions the adoption of modern data stack tools and frameworks (e.g., Data Factory, Purview for Data Governance, etc.) to enable scalable, automated, and reliable data workflows
  • Ensures rigorous testing, monitoring, and validation for data accuracy, quality, and security across all analytics and data engineering initiatives
  • Drives the implementation of modern data infrastructure, supporting advanced analytics, machine learning, and self-service BI
  • Partners with executive, clinical, operational, and business leaders to translate strategic objectives into actionable data and analytics solutions
  • Oversees data governance, compliance, and stewardship, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational policies
  • Manages project and resource allocation, budgets, and timelines to deliver high-impact analytics and data architecture projects on schedule and within scope
  • Stays current on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in analytics engineering, data architecture, and AI, continuously elevating team capabilities
  • Represents the analytics engineering and data architecture function in executive forums, providing thought leadership and strategic guidance
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field required; Master's preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of analytics experience required, with at least 3 years focused on advanced SQL code writing and ETL development
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in analytics engineering, data architecture, or data engineering
  • Minimum 2 years' leadership experience required
  • Epic Caboodle and Clarity certification/accreditation required or obtained within 90 days of hire; must remain current in certification thereafter
  • At least one additional Epic data model certification/accreditation (Clinical Data Model, Revenue Data Model, Access Data Model, etc.) required
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT, and cloud data platforms (Microsoft Fabric, Azure, AWS, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data solutions
  • Other required system application training/certifications to complete assigned work as necessary
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare data, regulatory requirements, and best practices in data governance and security
  • Experience managing budgets, project portfolios, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
